5 Ways to Make Your iPad Look More Aesthetic
I bought the iPad mini (6th gen) about a year ago in March with the main intent to write and edit stories. Additionally, I bought the matching Apple Pencil pro and a screen protector that I highly recommend using if you’re an artist or writer. While I was shopping, I saw accessories that I definitely had to buy, and things that I felt that I could go without. One of the things I enjoy so much about tablets is the customizability of it all. After my search for the perfect accessory, I’ve decided to compile a list of things that will re-inspire you to give your iPad a whole new look. From cool aesthetics like Cottage Core, Dark Academia, to School Girl and more, read on to explore 5 ways to make your iPad more aesthetic.

Find a Case That Not Only Protects Your iPad, but Looks Cute As Well
We’re all adults here, right? Let’s accept the fact that buying an overpriced, bulky case that looks like it could survive a nuclear war might not exactly be on trend to having an iPad that you love to use. For me, I like to keep it simple by looking for cases that serve as an extension to an already pretty-nice looking device. I bought my iPad mini in a gorgeous baby pink color, and didn’t mind waiting a little longer to find the case that mimicked the iPad itself. One thing that was important to me was also finding a case that I could hold my Apple Pencil pro and provided easy access whenever needed. Despite all of this, I didn’t feel the need to splurge, and found this reasonably priced case on Amazon for SEVEN DOLLARS. Name a better deal than that, I’ll wait.

If you can, invest in the Apple Pencil
As an author and someone that loves to organize and has notes on top of notes, I find myself using the pencil nearly every time I pick my iPad up. There’s something so satisfying about taking notes on an iPad. Sure, it might take some getting used to at first, especially if you have the smaller surface area of the mini iPad. But I promise you get used to it after a while, and with certain note taking apps like Notability, GoodNotes, and EverNotes, the customization is endless. For a totally free option, Apple’s version of Notes is surprisingly robust in features (I’m still finding new ones to date) and frequently offers new updates.
Tip
To make your iPad extra aesthetic, consider buying one (or a few) different pencil cases. Have fun with it, there are so many options to choose from. My favorite would have to be the covers that actually look like #2 wooden pencils. Match that with a classic composition style notebook iPad cover and you’ve got a nostalgic combo to suit your childhood dreams. For more precise drawing, swap out the default Pencil tip with a smaller one but do keep in mind that the tips will need to be replaced at least every year or so, more often if you use it frequently.
Find the Perfect Screen Protector
Search online for a great screen protector. For total aesthetic purposes, feel free to go with the glass screen that seamlessly blends in with your iPad. However, if you’re looking for more than just an aesthetic look, but also an aesthetic feel to your new gadget, consider the Softamm Paperfeel Magnetic Screen Protector. This screen protector has so many small features that I love such as magnetic strips that easily clip on your screen without the long process of typical cases, it also has a paper-like feel to it- which makes writing a lot easier (and your iPad will thank you for protecting it from the wear and tear that pencils can cause!). The only minor drawback I have about this case is that I wish the magnetic parts of it came in different colors. The black blends in well enough, but it would nice to see a few more swatches that could match my case as well.

Utilize Widgets and Customize Apps
Moving onto the interior of your iPad, there are a variety of ways to customize your screen. Choose a nice, clean picture for your Lock Screen, adjust the font size, color and type for the time and date by pressing and holding on the Lock Screen. Add a couple widgets like Calendar, weather and your most used apps for quick access. Explore cool wallpaper theme apps like StyleKit, AestheticKit and others that allow you to change the color and look of your installed apps.
Tip
Pinterest is your best friend when choosing images for your wallpaper. You can directly import Pinterest boards to your wallpaper as widgets which become a game changer for how you want your overall theme to look like. Create cool Pinterest boards like future vacation spots, aesthetic Motivational quotes or Bible Verses to make your iPad uniquely yours.
Adjust the Fonts
To elevate the style of several apps across your iPad, consider installing new fonts. Apps like iFont, AnyFont, and FontCase allows you to download tons of new fonts that you can use on several Note taking apps and even Canva and Microsoft Word. Don’t feel like signing up for a free trial that you know you’ll forget about and end up paying the monthly fee? Apple also offers a long list of fonts that you can install for free. If you enjoy using your iPad for taking notes, then using a handwritten font like Noteworthy or Zapfino adds a nice touch that might seem small to some but can really be the icing on top of your newly refreshed Aesthetic iPad.
